We come together in a moment of profound sorrow and remembrance. Janet Coombes, a beloved pillar of the Larkhall Athletic community, left us peacefully in her sleep on 4 March 2024.
For nearly six decades, Janet's dedication and love for the club shone brightly, touching the lives of all who walked through Plain Ham. Janet's legacy is rich and enduring. Crowned Sports Person of the Year in 2017 and honoured as a Life Member in 2019, her commitment to Larkhall Athletic was unparalleled. Her presence on match days, her delicious cakes, and her unwavering support through countless events left an indelible mark on our community.
Beyond the pitch, Janet's warmth and generosity extended to her involvement with the City of Bath Petanque Club, Midsomer Norton short-mat bowls club, regularly playing skittles, and her attendance at Walcot Methodist Church. Her sudden departure leaves a void in our hearts and our club, but her spirit and contributions will forever be a beacon of inspiration and community at Larkhall Athletic.
In memory of Janet's extraordinary life and legacy, we are asking for donations to support the construction of a new 250-seater stand. This initiative will not only enhance our club's facilities but also serve as a lasting tribute to a remarkable woman who gave so much to Larkhall Athletic and its members.
